Custom Buit-in
| This built in, made in the Daniel Line style is the only time that I have made a built in that was built with the details of a free standing piece of furniture. All the pulls were hand made, mortised into the drawer fronts and wedged with a contrasting piece of wood as just one example. The upper door panels are made of crotch mahogany and are solid wood, not veneers. I developed my own way of working with the cracks that naturally occur in crotch mahogany so that they would look natural and not like repairs. I lost a lot of sleep on this project as I did not know until the 8th day of working on the cracks if they would hold. If they did not, the panels would have been useless. |
